Vietnam, Malaysia Discuss Cooperation in Renewable Energy Development

Vietnam and Malaysia have engaged in discussions on expanding cooperation in renewable energy development, with both sides sharing experiences and exploring potential collaboration opportunities.

During a working session in Hanoi on March 25, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long met with Malaysian Ambassador Datoโ€™ Tan Yang Thai to discuss strategies for enhancing renewable energy projects between the two nations. Representatives from Petronas, Malaysiaโ€™s state-owned oil and gas company, were also present at the meeting.

Deputy Minister Long outlined Vietnamโ€™s policies on renewable energy development and expressed interest in strengthening partnerships with Malaysia in this sector. He emphasized Vietnamโ€™s commitment to increasing its renewable energy capacity to meet sustainability goals.

Ambassador Tan welcomed Vietnamโ€™s energy initiatives and highlighted Malaysiaโ€™s own strategies to advance renewable energy adoption. He reaffirmed Malaysiaโ€™s willingness to share expertise and support Vietnam in implementing green energy projects.

Both sides agreed to continue discussions, exchange knowledge, and explore specific avenues for collaboration in the future, aiming to foster greater cooperation in the renewable energy sector.
