HDF Energy Advances Hydrogen Renewstable Projects in Maluku with Focus on Sustainability

Mathieu Geze, President Director of PT Hydrogen de France (HDF) Asia Pacific, along with Business Development Manager Indonesia Syaifuddin Suaib (Cipu) and Business Development Indonesia Kurniadi Ramadhan, held a key meeting with Governor of Maluku, Hendrik Lewerissa, in Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD).

HDF Energy, an Independent Power Producer (IPP) specializing in hydrogen infrastructure for power generation, is actively advancing its presence in Indonesia. Mathieu Geze introduced HDF’s operations in the country, highlighting the companyโ€™s establishment as a Foreign Investment Company dedicated to developing Renewstable power plants. These plants integrate solar, battery, and hydrogen technologies to deliver clean and stable electricity, targeting Eastern Indonesia, including Maluku Province.

HDF Energy emphasized the Renewstable solution as a promising alternative for renewable energy by addressing intermittency challenges and offering dispatchable power. The company has fostered strong collaborations with Indonesiaโ€™s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and PT PLN (Persero), formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a Joint Development Study Agreement (JDSA).

The meeting concluded with the Maluku Provincial Government expressing openness to new investments, emphasizing the importance of responsible investment practices. Incoming projects are expected to prioritize employing local workers and carefully consider environmental impacts.
