Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. (SEV) has officially commissioned a rooftop solar power system at its SEV factory in Yen Phong Industrial Park, Bac Ninh, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability and Vietnam’s national net-zero emissions targets.
The newly operational system, with a capacity of 2.38 MWp, is expected to generate approximately 2.59 million kWh of clean electricity annually, significantly reducing the factory’s carbon footprint.
Constructed over a three-month period, the project marks Samsung Vietnam’s first step toward its Net Zero ambition and highlights its leadership in the renewable energy transition as Vietnam’s largest foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprise.
“This project represents a major milestone in Samsung’s sustainability strategy and contributes directly to the Vietnamese government’s clean energy goals,” a Samsung Vietnam representative stated.
The rooftop solar installation is the result of a collaboration between SEV and CME Solar, marking their first joint renewable energy initiative. CME Solar, acting as the investor and full EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) provider, handled all stages of the project—including engineering design, legal compliance, construction, system acceptance, and operations—ensuring alignment with SEV’s strict quality and safety standards.
CME Solar brings to the table a seasoned operations and maintenance team, currently managing nearly 100 rooftop solar projects across Vietnam. The company also deployed its proprietary 24/7 monitoring platform, powered by advanced AI and data analytics, to provide real-time fault detection and ensure long-term system efficiency.
This solar initiative aligns with Samsung Vietnam’s broader sustainable development strategy and reflects its ongoing commitment to clean energy transformation in both local and global contexts.
