NLC India Secures $100 Million Green Loan From Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation

NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has taken a significant step towards boosting India’s renewable energy sector by securing its first Green Loan. The company signed a JPY 15.464 billion (USD 100 million) agreement with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) to fund its clean energy projects.

The signing took place in the presence of NLCIL officials, including Mr. Dhanapal D, CGM–Finance, and Dr. Prasanna Kumar Acharya, Director – Finance & CFO, along with Mr. Manoj Kaushik, Branch Head of SMBC–GIFT City. The strategic low-cost financing will be channelled through NLC India Renewables Ltd. (NIRL), supporting the company’s goal of achieving 10 GW of green energy capacity by 2030 and contributing to India’s Net Zero 2070 target.
