UJVN Invites Bids for 150 MWh Battery Energy Storage Project Across Uttarakhand

UJVN Ltd., a government enterprise of Uttarakhand, has invited online bids for setting up a large battery energy storage project in the state. The tender has been issued by the Office of the Executive Engineer (Solar), Dehradun, for the development of a 60 MW/150 MWh stand-alone Battery Energy Storage System. The project will be implemented on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer basis and is aimed at strengthening power reliability in different parts of Uttarakhand.

The project is supported under the Viability Gap Funding scheme through the Power System Development Fund. To ensure better regional coverage, the project has been divided into three separate packages located near existing hydroelectric projects. The first package involves setting up a 30 MW/75 MWh battery system near the Dhakrani Hydroelectric Project in Dehradun district, the tender Valueย is โ‚น1,70,98,00,000, while the EMD is โ‚น1,50,00,000.. The second package covers a 15 MW/37.5 MWh system near the Tiloth Hydroelectric Project in Uttarkashi district, the tender Valueย is โ‚น85,45,00,000, while the EMD is โ‚น75,00,000. The third package includes another 15 MW/37.5 MWh battery system near the Khatima Hydroelectric Project in Udham Singh Nagar district, the tender Valueย is โ‚น85,45,00,000, while the EMD is โ‚น75,00,000.

UJVN Ltd. is inviting tariff-based competitive bids through an online request for proposal process. Interested bidders can download the tender documents from the state e-procurement portal. The last date for submitting online bids is February 25, 2026, up to 4:00 pm.

The current tender notice mainly highlights the project scope, locations, and timelines. Detailed technical requirements and any updates or clarifications related to the bidding process will be shared through official addendums. Bidders are advised to regularly check the UJVN Ltd. website and the state e-procurement portal for further information related to the tender.
