CleanMax Commissions 185 MW Hybrid Wind-Solar Project in Kalavad, Expands Gujarat Renewable Portfolio

Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Limited has announced the commissioning of a 185 MW hybrid renewable energy project in Kalavad, Gujarat, strengthening its footprint in one of India’s most active clean energy markets.

The project integrates both solar and wind capacity and was developed over a period of approximately 12 months. It is designed to supply green energy to 17 corporate customers under the group captive model, enabling businesses to secure long-term clean power while complying with regulatory requirements under the Electricity Act.

With the addition of the Kalavad project, CleanMax’s total operational capacity in Gujarat has reached around 844 MW as of March 31, 2026. The company stated that the hybrid configuration will help deliver more consistent renewable energy, particularly for industries with round-the-clock power needs.

Publicly listed firms such as Apar Industries Limited and Borosil Renewables Limited are among the customers sourcing power from the project.

Commenting on the development, Managing Director Kuldeep Jain highlighted Gujarat’s leadership in industrial decarbonisation, citing the alignment of policy, demand, and economics in the state. He noted that the Kalavad project builds on the company’s long-standing operational experience in the region by aggregating multiple customers onto a single hybrid platform.

Chief Financial Officer Nikunj Ghodawat stated that the project is expected to contribute over ₹165 crore annually to the company’s revenue from FY2027, supported by 25-year fixed-tariff power purchase agreements (PPAs), ensuring long-term revenue visibility and stable cash flows.

Once fully operational, the project is projected to offset approximately 3.61 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, equivalent to planting nearly 20.9 million trees each year.

Gujarat continues to emerge as a key market for renewable energy in the commercial and industrial (C&I) segment, driven by strong manufacturing demand and supportive regulatory frameworks. Recent policy updates by Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC), including improved open-access and banking provisions, have further enhanced the viability of hybrid renewable projects in the state.

At the company level, CleanMax reported an operational energy sale capacity of 3.1 GW as of March 31, 2026, with a diversified customer base spanning India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
