NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has invited online bids for the supply of solar PV modules for large-scale projects in Uttar Pradesh. The modules will be used in projects located in Lalitpur and Chitrakoot, with a combined DC capacity of about 1450 MWp.
The bidding will follow a domestic competitive process using a single-stage, two-envelope system. This includes a techno-commercial bid and a price bid, which will be followed by a reverse auction. The project has been divided into three blocks. Two blocks are in Lalitpur, each with a capacity of 435 MWp, while one block in Chitrakoot has a capacity of 580 MWp.
Under the scope of work, selected bidders will be responsible for manufacturing, supply, packing, forwarding, and transportation of crystalline bifacial solar PV modules. These modules must have a minimum capacity of 570 Wp and should fall under the โOPENโ category. They must also be listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-I, ensuring compliance with government quality standards. In addition, suppliers will need to provide spare modules equal to 1 percent of the total supplied quantity.
The bidding process has a defined timeline. The document download period is scheduled from April 10 to April 15, 2026. A pre-bid conference along with the receipt of queries will take place on April 16, 2026. The final date for submission of bids is April 27, 2026, at 3:00 PM IST, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same day at 3:30 PM IST.
Bidders are required to submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) depending on the capacity they apply for. For individual blocks such as 439.35 MWp or 585.8 MWp, the EMD is set at INR 10 crore. For larger combined capacities, including multiple blocks or the full project, the EMD requirement increases to INR 20 crore.
Financial eligibility criteria have also been defined. The average annual turnover of the bidder over the last three financial years must be at least equal to the quoted capacity in MWp multiplied by 0.209 in INR crore. Additionally, the bidderโs net worth must be equal to or more than 100 percent of its paid-up share capital as of the last financial year.
On the technical side, bidders must have experience in manufacturing and supplying at least 200 MWp of solar PV modules or cells within a 12-month period over the last five years. At least one of these orders should be of 50 MWp or more.
Interested bidders must register on the ETS portal and submit a signed non-disclosure agreement to access the detailed tender documents. This tender reflects a major step in expanding solar capacity in Uttar Pradesh and strengthening domestic manufacturing participation in large renewable energy projects.
