SAEL Industries has announced the commissioning of 600 MW (AC) of solar power capacity in Andhra Pradesh, marking a significant milestone in its renewable energy expansion strategy. The capacity comprises two 300 MW ground-mounted solar projects located in Kurnool district, developed through its subsidiaries.
The projects have been commissioned under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), ensuring long-term revenue visibility and operational stability.
Spread across more than 2,400 acres, the installations incorporate over 1.2 million TOPCon bifacial solar modules, enhancing energy yield through advanced photovoltaic technology. Notably, the modules deployed in the projects have been manufactured domestically at SAEL’s facilities in Punjab and Rajasthan, reinforcing the company’s focus on backward integration and alignment with India’s local manufacturing push.
With the addition of these projects, SAEL’s total operational renewable energy capacity has surpassed 2.5 GW, reflecting its rapid scale-up in the utility-scale solar segment. The company had earlier commissioned a 1 GW solar project in Khavda, Gujarat, further consolidating its position in the Indian renewable energy market.
The newly operational plants are expected to generate substantial clean energy while contributing to a reduction of approximately 1.1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, supporting India’s broader climate and sustainability targets.
This development underscores Andhra Pradesh’s growing prominence as a key renewable energy hub, driven by favorable policy frameworks, land availability, and increasing investments from large-scale developers.
SAEL Industries continues to strengthen its position as an integrated renewable energy player, leveraging in-house manufacturing capabilities alongside project development to enhance efficiency and cost competitiveness in India’s evolving clean energy landscape.
