Yude Solar, a solar energy company supported by the GoodWe Group, has officially started its operations in Thailand with an opening event held in Bangkok. This marks the companyโs first major move into the Southeast Asian market and reflects its broader plan to expand globally in response to the rising demand for renewable energy.
The company is not just setting up an office in Thailand but is aiming to build a complete solar service system. As part of this plan, Yude Solar will work closely with local engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies, along with financial institutions. These partnerships are expected to make rooftop solar systems easier to access and more affordable for households as well as small and medium businesses.
At the launch event, CEO Bryan Bao highlighted the companyโs vision, stating that clean energy should not be considered a luxury but a basic need. Yude Solar brings strong experience from China, where it has already served around 100,000 customers and completed more than 3 gigawatts of solar projects. The company now plans to use this experience to grow in Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries.
The timing of this expansion is important. Many countries in Southeast Asia are facing challenges related to energy security and rising electricity costs. In this situation, distributed solar systems are gaining attention as a practical solution. These systems allow electricity to be generated directly at homes or commercial buildings, reducing dependence on traditional power sources and lowering pressure on national grids.
By promoting decentralized energy generation, Yude Solar aims to support more stable and cost-effective power systems in the region. This approach can also help countries improve their economic strength by reducing reliance on imported fuels.
Looking forward, Yude Solar has set a clear target to become one of the top five distributed solar providers in Southeast Asia. Thailand will act as its regional base, from where it plans to expand into nearby markets. The company also intends to introduce advanced technology and efficient project execution methods to support its growth.
As governments across Southeast Asia continue to focus on clean energy and sustainability, Yude Solar aims to play a key role in this transition by helping communities produce and use their own renewable electricity.
