Meja Urja Nigam Private Limited has reported strong operational and financial performance for FY2025–26, with the company posting a Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹727.70 crore and achieving commercial power generation of 7,744 million units (MU).
The Board of Directors of MUNPL approved the annual accounts for the financial year 2025–26, highlighting stable plant operations and continued growth in the thermal power sector.
During the financial year, the company recorded a Total Income of ₹4,666.60 crore. The Meja Thermal Power Project maintained an Availability Factor of 89.61%, reflecting operational reliability and efficient power generation performance.
In a major development for Uttar Pradesh’s power infrastructure, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the Stage-II expansion of the Meja Thermal Power Project. The expansion is expected to significantly enhance generation capacity and strengthen long-term energy security in the state.
According to the company, the Stage-II approval represents a major milestone in MUNPL’s expansion strategy and is expected to improve operational efficiency while supporting the region’s growing electricity demand.
As part of its sustainability and community development initiatives, MUNPL spent ₹12.714 crore on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities during FY26. The company’s CSR programs focused on education, healthcare, women empowerment, vocational training, infrastructure development, renewable energy, and broader community welfare initiatives.
NTPC Limited and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited jointly own MUNPL, which operates the 2×660 MW Meja Thermal Power Project in Uttar Pradesh. The company stated that it remains committed to delivering reliable and efficient power generation while contributing to sustainable development in the region.
