UK-based energy technology company UrbanChain has signed a 15-year solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with renewable energy developer AMPYR, securing long-term offtake from a portfolio of solar assets across the United Kingdom.
Under the agreement, UrbanChain will purchase electricity generated from AMPYR’s solar portfolio and supply it directly to commercial and industrial customers through its peer-to-peer energy trading platform. The deal is designed to provide businesses with access to traceable renewable electricity while offering long-term price certainty amid ongoing energy market volatility.
The partnership enables solar generation from AMPYR’s portfolio to be matched with customer demand using UrbanChain’s digital energy marketplace, supporting more efficient renewable energy procurement and helping businesses advance their decarbonization objectives.
For AMPYR, the long-term agreement enhances revenue visibility and strengthens the commercial viability of its solar assets, while UrbanChain expands its renewable energy supply base to meet growing demand from corporate consumers seeking clean power solutions.
