Resonia Wins Major ISTS Transmission Project in Telangana to Evacuate 3 GW Renewable Energy from Kurnool REZ

Resonia Ltd., a leading power transmission infrastructure company, has secured a major Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) project in Telangana under the Kurnool IV Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Power Transmission Limited project, awarded by the Ministry of Power.

The project is aimed at strengthening transmission connectivity between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana while enhancing grid flexibility and enabling large-scale renewable energy evacuation from the Kurnool Renewable Energy Zone.

Spanning approximately 120 km, the transmission infrastructure is designed to support the evacuation of around 3 GW of renewable energy planned under Kurnool IV REZ Phase II. The scope of work includes the development of a 765/400 kV Doma substation, augmentation of the existing Kurnool-IV pooling station, and construction of associated high-capacity transmission systems.

The project also involves the LILO (Line In Line Out) of the Kurnool-IV–Bidar 765 kV double-circuit line at Doma, along with two 400 kV double-circuit transmission lines connecting the Doma substation to the existing Shadnagar and Kethiredipally substations of TGTRANSCO.

Commenting on the development, Prashant Sinha, Chief Executive Officer of Resonia Ltd., said the project marks a significant milestone for the company and highlights the growing need for robust interstate transmission infrastructure to support India’s energy transition.

“As renewable energy capacity scales rapidly, resilient and high-capacity transmission systems are critical for seamless power evacuation and grid stability. Through the Kurnool IV REZ project, we are enabling efficient clean energy integration while supporting regional and national decarbonisation goals,” Sinha said.

He added that the project win reflects the company’s execution capabilities and its commitment to building future-ready transmission networks to support India’s clean energy expansion.

The development further strengthens Resonia’s position as a key player in India’s power transmission sector, contributing to grid resilience, interstate power flow, and large-scale renewable energy integration.
