Daystar Power Group has successfully completed the installation of nearly 7 MW of solar power capacity across four Nestlé manufacturing facilities in West Africa, marking one of the largest commercial and industrial solar energy collaborations in the region. The project covers facilities located in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Senegal, with a combined installed capacity of 6,884 kWp.

The solar systems are now fully operational at two Nestlé sites in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, one facility in Tema, Ghana, and another in Dakar, Senegal. Among the three countries, Côte d’Ivoire accounts for the largest share of the deployment, with a total installed capacity of 3,447 kWp across its two manufacturing plants. The Tema facility in Ghana has received a solar installation of 2,547 kWp, while the Dakar site in Senegal operates with an 890 kWp system.

The initiative began with a single solar project and later expanded into a broader regional partnership covering multiple countries. Each solar hybrid system was specifically designed to suit the local grid conditions and operational requirements of the respective manufacturing facilities. This customized approach helps ensure a reliable and stable supply of clean energy for Nestlé’s operations while also strengthening local energy resilience.

Apart from supporting industrial energy needs, the project is expected to generate environmental and social benefits. The solar installations will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to sustainable development efforts in the host countries. The project also aligns with broader goals to increase the adoption of renewable energy across West Africa.

Commenting on the achievement, Daystar Power Group CEO Yischai Beinisch said the successful expansion of the project reflects the confidence that Nestlé has placed in the company’s energy solutions. He noted that delivering solar energy systems across multiple countries for one of the world’s leading manufacturers demonstrates the strength and reliability of Daystar’s business model.

Nestlé Central and West Africa Region CEO Samer Chedid stated that the investment supports the company’s sustainability strategy while creating long-term value for local communities. He added that the project contributes to Nestlé’s global objective of achieving net-zero carbon emissions.

With solar infrastructure now operating across Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Senegal, both companies are expected to explore additional opportunities to expand their clean energy footprint in the region. Daystar Power continues to offer solar hybrid energy solutions to commercial and industrial customers across West Africa, including Nigeria and Togo.
