Bluebird Solar Secures 439.35 MW Solar Module Supply Order from NTPC Renewable Energy

Bluebird Solar has secured a 439.35 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) module supply order from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), strengthening its presence in India’s utility-scale solar market.

Under the contract, the company will supply its M10R N-Type TOPCon dual-glass bifacial solar PV modules for NTPC Renewable Energy’s utility-scale solar project in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. The modules are designed to deliver high conversion efficiency, enhanced durability and long-term operational performance.

The order marks a significant addition to Bluebird Solar’s project portfolio and reflects the growing demand for domestically manufactured, high-efficiency solar modules as India expands its renewable energy capacity.

Rohit Tikku, Chief Executive Officer of Bluebird Solar, said the contract represents a major milestone for the company and reflects the confidence that leading renewable energy developers have in its manufacturing capabilities, technology and product quality. He added that Bluebird Solar remains committed to delivering advanced solar solutions that support India’s clean energy transition and renewable energy targets.

Akshay Mittal, Director of Bluebird Solar, said the order underscores the company’s continued focus on innovation, manufacturing excellence and customer trust. He noted that Bluebird Solar will continue investing in advanced technologies and expanding its manufacturing capabilities to support India’s ambition of becoming a global clean energy manufacturing hub.

Bluebird Solar currently operates a fully automated 2.5 GW solar PV module manufacturing facility equipped with advanced production lines and automated quality control systems. The company said its product portfolio is designed to maximize energy generation while maintaining reliable performance across diverse climatic conditions.

The latest order further strengthens Bluebird Solar’s position in the utility-scale solar segment and aligns with India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based energy capacity.

As part of its expansion strategy, the company plans to establish an additional 2.5 GW of integrated manufacturing capacity covering solar cells, wafers, ingots and battery energy storage systems (BESS). According to Bluebird Solar, the planned expansion aims to strengthen domestic manufacturing, improve supply chain resilience and support the country’s efforts to develop a globally competitive clean energy manufacturing ecosystem.
