BHEL Invites Bids For Supply Monocrystalline 625 Wp Solar PV Modules For Hyderabad R&D Division

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), through its Corporate Research & Development (R&D) Division in Hyderabad, has invited online bids for the procurement of 350 units of 625 Wp solar photovoltaic (PV) modules. The tender has been issued under enquiry number 652600571 and is open to qualified indigenous vendors capable of supplying modules that meet the company’s technical and quality requirements.

According to the tender document, the solar PV modules must use monocrystalline silicon cell technology and comply with applicable IEC and Indian Standards (IS) certifications. The procurement will be conducted through BHEL’s e-procurement portal using a two-part bidding process, which includes separate technical and financial evaluations.

To qualify for the tender, bidders must demonstrate prior experience by submitting proof of at least one purchase order for supplying similar solar PV modules within the last five years. However, BHEL has relaxed the requirements related to prior turnover and experience for registered startups. Such startups will be eligible to participate as long as they satisfy the prescribed technical specifications.

The tender also promotes the participation of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs). In line with the Government of India’s public procurement policy, 25% of the total procurement quantity has been reserved for eligible MSE vendors, encouraging greater involvement of small businesses in public sector projects.

The selected supplier will be required to deliver the entire order within 10 weeks from the date of the purchase order. In addition, the successful bidder must provide a comprehensive 10-year product warranty covering manufacturing defects, ensuring long-term reliability and quality of the supplied solar modules.

The enquiry was issued on July 18, 2026, while the last date for bid submission is July 28, 2026. The indicative delivery date has been set as September 30, 2026.

The tender documents do not specify fixed amounts for the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) or Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG). However, BHEL has stated that in case of any contractual breach, it may recover up to 10% of the total contract value through the forfeiture or encashment of available security instruments, including the EMD and performance security.
