Hinduja Renewables Surpasses 4 TWh Clean Energy Generation, Advances 10 GW Renewable Capacity Roadmap by 2030

Hinduja Renewables Energy Private Limited (HREPL), the renewable energy arm of the Hinduja Group, has surpassed 4 TWh of cumulative clean energy generation since inception, helping mitigate more than 3.17 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions. The company announced the milestone alongside the release of its FY26 Sustainability Report, titled Empowering a Sustainable Tomorrow.

The report outlines HREPL’s progress across environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives while reaffirming its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2040.

HREPL currently operates a renewable energy portfolio exceeding 1.1 GWp across India and has a diversified 3 GWp portfolio comprising operational and under-development solar and wind projects. The company is also expanding into battery energy storage systems (BESS) and pumped hydro storage as part of its integrated clean energy strategy.

During FY2025-26, HREPL generated 1.103 TWh of renewable electricity from its operational assets, supporting its Mission 10-2030 strategy to develop 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.

“Crossing 4 TWh of clean energy generation is an important milestone, but its greater significance lies in the impact created through lower emissions, responsible resource use and stronger outcomes for our people and communities,” said Deepak Thakur, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hinduja Renewables. He added that the company remains focused on building a renewable energy platform where growth, operational excellence and sustainability reinforce each other.

The company also highlighted progress in improving the sustainability of its operations. HREPL reduced water consumption for solar module cleaning by 60–70% through the deployment of robotic cleaning technology across most of its sites, while more than 99% of total waste generated during the year was recycled through authorised recyclers.

Under its corporate social responsibility initiatives, the company expanded water stewardship programmes across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, creating more than 62.33 million litres of new water storage capacity while supporting community water literacy initiatives.

HREPL also reported significant progress in workforce development and governance during FY2025-26. The company’s workforce doubled during the year, while achieving 100% employee health insurance coverage, delivering approximately 446,122 occupational health and safety training hours, and implementing emergency response plans across all operational sites.

Looking ahead, HREPL said it will continue expanding its utility-scale renewable energy, commercial and industrial clean energy solutions, and digital energy platforms as it advances its long-term renewable energy and sustainability objectives under its Mission 10-2030 roadmap.
