ReNew Energy Global Plc , a decarbonisation solutions company, has reduced its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 25.6% from its FY2021-22 baseline, surpassing its FY2025-26 target of 23.5%, according to its third annual Integrated Report.
The company also generated 24.7 billion units of clean electricity, equivalent to powering approximately 21.2 million households and avoiding around 20.8 million tonnes of CO₂e annually. The results highlight ReNew’s progress towards its Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)-validated Net Zero 2040 commitment.
Titled Beyond Boundaries: Decarbonising Value Chains to Deliver Climate Value at Scale – Responsible Innovations for a Sustainable Tomorrow, the report outlines ReNew’s evolution from a renewable power producer into a broader decarbonisation solutions provider, with operations spanning clean energy, manufacturing, energy storage, digital innovation and emerging climate solutions.
ReNew Advances Net Zero and Sustainability Targets
ReNew maintained carbon neutrality for the sixth consecutive year, while sourcing 84% of its electricity from renewable sources. The company is targeting 100% renewable electricity sourcing by 2030.
The company also reported savings of more than 617 million litres of water, supporting its ambition to become water-positive by 2030.
In supply chain sustainability, ReNew completed ESG assessments for 100% of its critical suppliers, with the assessment framework extended to Tier 2 suppliers. The company also reported sourcing 100% of its steel for wind tower plates domestically.
ReNew has established a framework for responsible AI use, covering ethical, transparent and accountable deployment of artificial intelligence across its operations.
Clean Energy Portfolio Reaches 12.8 GW
ReNew’s operational portfolio reached 12.8 GW as of May 18, 2026, spanning solar, wind, hydro and battery storage.
Its manufacturing footprint expanded to 6.4 GW of solar module capacity and 2.5 GW of solar cell capacity, supporting the company’s strategy to strengthen domestic manufacturing and clean energy supply chains.
During FY2025-26, ReNew contributed approximately 8% of India’s clean energy generation. Its C&I solutions portfolio, with 2.23 GW of dedicated capacity, helped customers avoid approximately 3.11 million tonnes of CO₂e.
The company also restored 621 metric tonnes of critical spares under its Project Revival initiative, extending asset life while reducing resource consumption.
Financial Performance Strengthens
Alongside its sustainability progress, ReNew reported strong financial performance during FY2025-26. Total income increased 38% year-on-year to ₹150.6 billion, while profit after tax more than doubled to ₹10.4 billion.
The company said the financial performance demonstrates the resilience of its business model while it continues to scale its clean energy and decarbonisation solutions.
Social Impact and Governance
ReNew reported that its social initiatives reached more than 1.95 million people through programmes covering education, healthcare, livelihoods, women’s empowerment, water stewardship and community development.
Women accounted for 18% of the workforce, 19% of new hires and 15% of STEM roles. The company reported zero employee fatalities, while its Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) declined 52% to 0.10.
The report also includes ReNew’s first ESG Data Book and voluntary Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR), alongside its newly launched Responsible AI Policy.
The Integrated Report has been prepared in accordance with the IFRS Integrated Reporting Framework and references GRI Standards 2021, SASB, UN Sustainable Development Goals, UN Global Compact, UN Women’s Empowerment Principles, IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, IFRS S2 and TNFD recommendations.
ReNew said 97.61% of its revenue and 96.23% of capital expenditure are aligned with the EU Taxonomy, reinforcing its focus on globally aligned sustainability disclosures and transparent reporting.sparent reporting.
