BayWa r.e. has engineered, constructed, and commissioned a 2.2 MWp ground-mounted PV system for Merck, spanning 10,600 square meters in Mollet del Vallès. Generating 2.8 million kWh annually, it fulfills 60% of the plant’s energy needs, slashing CO2 emissions by 800 tonnes annually. This project marks BayWa r.e.’s debut energy solution endeavor in Spain’s pharmaceutical sector.

BayWa r.e. executed two self-consumption projects for Tetra Pak at its production facilities in Arganda del Rey (Madrid) and Seville, aligning with the company’s energy transition strategy. These projects include PV rooftop and carport installations with a combined capacity of nearly 1.3 MW. The Madrid rooftop project boasts a distinctive feature: it spans three buildings and is centrally managed wirelessly, enabling surplus energy from one building to power others.
