
In a bid to bolster its status as a global leader in sustainable energy solutions, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), led by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, hosted a high-level delegation from PowerChina to discuss potential cooperation in various energy and water sectors.
The PowerChina delegation included Peng Gang, Vice President of PowerChina-Intl and President of PowerChina MENA; Gao Fei, Vice President of PowerChina MENA; Chen Yunpeng, Vice President of SEPCOIII, a subsidiary of PowerChina; and Hong Li, Chief Representative of PowerChina in the UAE.
Discussions focused on several key areas of potential collaboration, such as renewable energy projects, smart grid solutions, water infrastructure development, and joint research and development initiatives. Both DEWA and PowerChina expressed a strong interest in forming strategic partnerships to facilitate future joint ventures.
Al Tayer underscored DEWA’s dedication to sustainability and innovation, aligning with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. These strategies aim to achieve 100% clean energy sources for Dubai by 2050.
PowerChina, known for its expertise in clean energy and sustainable development, expressed a keen interest in partnering with DEWA. The collaboration would focus on exploring new ventures and sharing knowledge and expertise in the fields of energy and water infrastructure.
This meeting marks a significant step towards future cooperation between DEWA and PowerChina, with both entities aiming to contribute to sustainable development and innovative energy solutions.
