India’s Lowest Solar Tariff Hits New Record of ₹2/kWh

The Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction for 1,070 MW of solar projects in Rajasthan has set a record-low lowest tariff of ₹2 /kWh, according to sources.

The tender was oversubscribed by 3,280 MW as SECI has received bids from 14 companies for 4,350 MW.

The record-breaking tariff was bided by Aljomaih Energy and Water Co and Green Infra Wind Energy Limited for 200 MW and 400 MW  respectively.

The second-lowest bid of ₹2.01 /kWh was quoted by  NTPC Limited for 600 MW of projects.

In July, The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has recently issued RfS for 1070 MW Grid-connected Solar PV Power Projects which was held under Tariff-based competitive bidding.

The location of this project is Rajasthan.

The scope of work for successful bidders include the design, engineering, supply, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of the projects .The bidders are also required to provide Land and Connectivity.
