Gen X Energy partners with ACE Enexor Inc. to develop an 1100 MW combined cycle power plant which is Batangas Clean Energy. The project will use green hydrogen and natural gas as fuel. Both the companies have a 50% stake in Batangas Clean Energy.
The plant will help the Philippines to meet the growing demand for energy and reduce the reliance of the country on coal-fired power systems.
Scott Kicker, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gen X Energy said, “We are excited about this opportunity to partner with ACE Enexor in the Philippines to meet the energy needs of the Philippines and facilitate the country’s transition to cleaner sustainable sources of energy.”
The project will be located in Batangas Bay Area, the Philippines near the load center of Metro Manila. ACEN’s aspiration is to be the largest listed renewables platform in Southeast Asia, with a goal of reaching 5,000 MW of renewables capacity by 2025.Â
ACEN is the listed energy platform of the Ayala Group. The company has over 3,000 MW of attributable capacity in the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and Australia. The company’s renewable share of capacity is at ~80%, among the highest in the region.
