CKPower continues the 6th year of the Firefly project under the CSR strategy to create value for society, which is “Fill-To- Join-Create” to fulfill educational opportunities for students in Hin Hua Suea Kindergarten, Saisomboon Province, Lao PDR by bringing renewable energy innovations to install solar cells and necessary utilities and to promote and improve the quality of life of students and people in the community.
Mr Thanawat Trivisvavet, Managing Director of CK Power Public Company Limited said, “CKPower is one of the largest renewable energy power producers in the region and has one of the lowest carbon footprints. The company has continually emphasized on sustainable development through the main social activities of the organization which is the Firefly Project. This was due to CKPower’s exploration of the nature and needs of communities in the surrounding power plants and remote areas both in Thailand and Lao PDR in terms of basic utilities, such as water and electricity, as well as education that requires children and youth have equal access to basic education and an environment conducive to learning.”
Currently, the Firefly Project has entered its 6th year with CKPower’s strategy to create value for society, which is “Add-To-Join-Create” by applying CKPower’s innovative process ideas and knowledge in the field of power generation engineering from renewable energy and taking part in creating value for society as well as building relationships with employees in the organization at all levels, communities, and network partners in a sustainable way,” said Mr Thanawat.
Mr Wiset Chungwattana, Managing Director of Nam Ngum 2 Power Company Limited said, “We have used CKPower’s renewable energy engineering capabilities to install a solar-powered submersible pump system using 6 solar panels with a capacity of 400 watts to generate electricity for the groundwater pump to work and store water in a water tank of 2,000 liters.”
