In a statement, the company stated that Germany’s entry is being encouraged by the REPowerEU plan. This plan aims to end Europe’s dependence on Russian fossil fuels by the year 2030. Germany has set a 2030 solar target at 215 GW and aims to achieve an 80% renewable energy share by the end of the decade.

Grenergy intends to take part in German public auctions and also pursue private power purchase agreements. According to Grenergy, a country manager with significant experience in the sector will manage a team of 15 people from the new Berlin offices.

The company boasts a global pipeline of over 11.5 GW projects at various stages of development in Europe and North America and Latin America.
