An official stated that the Jharkhand government is ready to announce a new ambitious solar policy. It aims to increase clean energy capacity to 4,000 megawatts within five years, and attract investors.
A subsidy of upto 80 percent of the total cost of installing rooftop solar panels will be provided to families with an annual income below Rs 3 lakh to encourage them to do so.
Hemant Soren, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, will unveil the 2022 Jharkhand Solar Policy on July 5. This policy, which seeks to create employment, growth opportunities, and sustainability, was also announced by the official.
The state currently generates less that 45 MW of solar power.

He also said that several other projects like solar floating projects or canal top solar projects were now included in the new policy.
