Kindly brief our readers about your solar manufacturing and R&D facilities.

Jakson has a world-class, fully automated module manufacturing Plant with an annual capacity of 600 MWp. The Plant is ISO Certified for 9001, 14001 & 45001, and ALMM approved for the complete range of modules up to 600Wp as per the latest MNRE guidelines & standards. The manufacturing facility is compatible with handling all different cell sizes from 156mm to 210 mm, including G1, M6, M10 & M12 and both full cell and half-cut cell modules. All the monoperc modules are manufactured using the latest Bifacial M10 Cell (182mm), the most optimum cell size preferred by leading module manufacturers globally. To ensure the defect-free module, we rely on 100% EL Testing (at 3 stages), including at stringer level, during in-process and final testing. Our solar manufacturing facility manufactures modules which are IEC Certified for various Parameters under IEC-61215 (1&2)/61730(1&2)/62804/61701/60068-2-68/62716, ensuring high reliability of the product. Furthermore, our in-house testing facility for testing of BOM items used in manufacturing modules and perform reliability tests on the module as per IEC/ BIS standards.

Could you highlight the specialities of your modules?

Being the most innovative and powerful PV modules in the domestic market, the USP of our latest Helia module series is its multiple variants. It ranges from 120, 132, 144, and 156 half-cut cells. Being an innovator in the energy industry, Jakson is the first Indian manufacturer to get IEC and BIS certifications to launch a 600 Wp module. The group ensured pollution degree 2 certifications to make the modules more sustainable. It makes them withstand harsh environmental conditions. Furthermore, the modules have M10 cells (182mm) with a JB rating of 25 amp for optimized performance. Helia Series Module are suitable for all type of applications, viz: Ground Mount, Rooftop & Floating Solar farms.

What is your current manufacturing capacity?

Our world-class, fully automated Solar module manufacturing plant has a capacity of 600 MW high efficiency and high power density solar modules.

There is information that government might relax rules on sourcing solar modules from anywhere amid shortage and high prices. What is Jakson’s perspective on this?

As per the latest ALMM list issued by MNRE, India has a total manufacturing capacity of 18 GW, and a further 8-10 GW or more of manufacturing is soon to be added to the revised ALMM. The same will be increased unprecedently with the support of Government Incentives under Make in India. In my view, the current capacity is sufficient for Solar Projects added in India at the current pace. If we increase project installation as per the current pace, we can add more manufacturing capacity in the future. Regarding pricing, Indian manufacturers primarily rely on importing multiple components for the assembly. In contrast, capacities for Solar Module components manufacturing are being added in parallel within the Country, which will help us become self-sufficient for local manufacturing capacity requirements.
