The head of Iran’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA) has announced plans to establish solar parks in every province of the country within the current Iranian calendar year, ending on March 20, 2024.
Mahmoud Kamani stated that these parks are part of the country’s efforts to develop renewable energy sources. Currently, Iran has a total capacity of 1,070 megawatts (MW) from its renewable power plants.
Kamani also revealed plans to construct 110,000 solar power plants with a capacity of five kilowatts (KW) for low-income groups this year.
Additionally, the tender for the construction of solar power plants with a capacity of 2,200 MW, which was not completed in the previous year, will be held this year.
The goal is to add 10,000 MW to the country’s renewable power capacity by the end of the current government administration in August 2025.
