Tokyo-based Sojitz has bolstered its commitment to clean energy initiatives in Indonesia through a capital increase subscription in PT Surya Nippon Nusantara (SNN). This investment is facilitated through Sojitz’s participation in PT ENERGI MITRA INVESTAMA (EMI), the largest rooftop solar power developer in Indonesia.
SNN, a newly established company, will focus on providing decarbonized energy solutions, including rooftop solar power generation, targeting industrial and commercial customers.
EMI, with a robust track record in rooftop solar energy development and over 70 MWp of solar energy system portfolios, is actively involved in clean energy initiatives, EV charging, and blockchain-based REC platform business.
SNN’s ambitious plan involves installing 100 MWp of solar power facilities in Kota Deltamas by 2030, contributing to customer decarbonization efforts and exploring additional ventures such as battery storage, EV-related businesses, energy efficiency services, and zero-emission fuel supply services like hydrogen, ammonia, and biofuels.
Sojitz’s investment aligns with its long-term vision, “Sustainability Challenge,” aiming to support SNN’s growth and contribute to Indonesia’s decarbonization and clean energy industry development by 2050.
