Greening Economies: ICIEC And GE Vernova Join Hands For Renewable Energy Solutions

On a momentous occasion at COP 28, the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC) and GE Energy Financial Services, Inc (GE Vernova) have formalized their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The agreement aims to amplify efforts in sustainable development and climate action within ICIEC’s extensive network of 49 member states.

Signed by Mr. Oussama Kaissi, CEO of ICIEC, and Mr Nomi Ahmad, President & CEO of GE Energy Financial Services, Inc., the MOU establishes a cooperative framework to harness ICIEC’s suite of insurance and credit enhancement solutions, synergizing with GE Vernova’s expertise in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy. This strategic partnership is anticipated to expedite the deployment of capital, goods, and services essential for sustainable energy projects across ICIEC member states.

In a statement emphasizing the transformative potential of this collaboration, Mr Oussama Kaissi expressed, “Our partnership with GE Vernova marks a significant leap forward in fulfilling our mandate of promoting sustainable development and climate action. By merging our strengths, we are uniquely positioned to advance the Sustainable Development Goals and assist our member states in fulfilling their commitments under the Paris Agreement. This alliance underscores our commitment to fostering economic growth while adhering to Shariah principles and maintaining the highest environmental and social standards.”
