In Riyadh, HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, engaged in a strategic meeting with HE Claire Coutinho, the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero of the United Kingdom. The discussions centered on reinforcing bilateral relations and exploring collaborative opportunities across various energy sectors.

Acknowledging the robust ties between the two nations, the leaders delved into potential collaborations within the energy sector, aligning with the existing Memorandum of Cooperation between the governments of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. Key areas of focus included the development of comprehensive clean hydrogen standards, emphasizing emissions over sources. The discussion extended to the formulation of policies related to Carbon Capture, Transport, and Storage (CCTS), reflecting a commitment to environmental sustainability.

The meeting also touched upon crucial topics such as the localization of energy components, knowledge exchange in the energy domain, and the formulation of regulatory frameworks. Emphasis was placed on the Kingdom’s proactive efforts to address climate change challenges, showcasing initiatives like the Saudi Green Initiative, the Middle East Green Initiative, and the Oil Sustainability Program.
