Facilitated through a 20-year solar lease agreement with SirajPower, Positive Zero’s power generation subsidiary and a prominent distributed solar energy provider in the UAE, the project encompasses the installation of solar panels on both the rooftop and carport areas of Al Jalila Foundation. This comprehensive initiative is anticipated to yield 4,403 MWh (megawatt hours) of clean solar energy over the contract duration, significantly reducing carbon emissions by 3,121 metric tons, akin to planting approximately 51,600 tree seedlings.

Dr. Amer Al Zarooni, CEO of Al Jalila Foundation, remarked, “This collaboration underscores our unwavering commitment to environmental preservation, sustainability promotion, and fostering optimism for a greener future. By embracing clean energy solutions, we align with Dubai Health’s vision of advancing global health while reducing our carbon footprint.”

Mohammed Abdulghaffar Hussain, Co-Founder and Chairman of Positive Zero, emphasized the project’s significance in showcasing the company’s versatile approach in serving diverse sectors, including philanthropy. He expressed confidence that this partnership will inspire other charitable organizations to harness the benefits of clean energy, thus enhancing their impact while curbing energy costs and carbon emissions.

Hussain further highlighted the UAE’s leading role in solar energy adoption within the Middle East, with installed capacity expected to triple by 2030. This positions early adopters, such as Al Jalila Foundation, to spearhead the transition towards a more sustainable energy landscape.

Under Positive Zero’s innovative model, encompassing financing, construction, long-term operations, and maintenance, organizations like Al Jalila Foundation can access clean energy solutions without upfront investments. This approach democratizes clean energy accessibility, enabling a wider array of entities to embrace renewable energy integration.

Positive Zero’s affiliated companies, including SirajPower and Taka Solutions, have already made significant strides in driving energy efficiency and clean energy adoption across various sectors in the GCC markets. With initiatives like the solar power project at Al Jalila Foundation, they continue to pave the way for a more sustainable and resilient future.
