The last date to submit the Bid is May 9, 2024, with bid opening scheduled for May 14, 2024.

The project aims to operate for 8 hours during peak and non-solar hours under a Build Own Operate (B-O-O) basis, connected to ISTS. The Thermal Energy Storage System (TESS) will discharge power to meet requirements during two (2) power blocks at full capacity (50MW) or at partial load distributed throughout non-solar hours.

The applicant must supply 50MW of renewable energy power, ensuring a minimum annual availability of 70% during 8 hours of peak demand and non-solar hours of contracted capacity in MW. Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) is the only allowable source for charging the TESS.

The Applicant must submit responses that remain valid for up to six (6) months after the response deadline.

After conducting a techno-commercial analysis of the responses in the Expression of Interest (EOI) and engaging in further discussions with interested parties, NTPC will proceed with a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a period of 25 years if deemed commercially feasible. Alternatively, NTPC may decide not to proceed with any project at this stage.
