Masdar, the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC, has unveiled an impressive roster of speakers for its upcoming Green Hydrogen Summit, including former UK Prime Minister Rt Hon Boris Johnson, ministerial representatives from the UAE, Azerbaijan, Japan, and the Netherlands, industry leaders, and global adventurer Dr. Bertrand Piccard.

At the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in Abu Dhabi, Masdarโ€™s second Green Hydrogen Summit will center around the theme โ€œBuilding the Hydrogen Economy: From Dialogue to Reality.โ€ The summit aims to bring together global hydrogen players for comprehensive discussions to propel the green hydrogen economy forward in alignment with the energy transition.

Keynote speaker Boris Johnson, renowned for his efforts in advancing clean energy initiatives during his tenure as UK Prime Minister, will share insights into the development of a thriving low-carbon hydrogen sector as part of the countryโ€™s journey towards net zero emissions. Additionally, Dr. Bertrand Piccard, Chairman of Climate Impulse, will highlight progress on his ambitious goal for the first hydrogen-powered flight around the world.

Hosted by Masdar, the Green Hydrogen Summit will feature a ministerial panel focusing on national strategies and policies to accelerate green hydrogen economies. Ministers participating in the panel include H.E. Parviz Shahbazov of Azerbaijan, H.E. Yoshida Nobuhiro of Japan, and Frederik Wisselink of the Netherlands.

The summit will also delve into Abu Dhabiโ€™s Low Carbon Hydrogen Policy and its impact on key industries, with high-level Abu Dhabi stakeholders sharing insights. Additionally, discussions on financing green hydrogen projects and regional developments in Asia, the US, and Europe will be central to the summit.

Bringing together stakeholders from the public and private sectors, the Green Hydrogen Summit aims to foster collaboration and drive progress towards a sustainable hydrogen economy.

Other panels will spotlight hard-to-abate industries including aviation, shipping and heavy industry, with a key conversation on decarbonizing the steel sector featuring industry leaders such as Micheal Rion, Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates Steel Arkan.
