Zelestra, formerly known as Solarpack, has successfully connected its 108 MW La Mata solar plant to the grid. Located in the municipality of La Gloria in northeastern Colombia, this marks the company’s second solar plant in the country.
The project represents a total investment of $80 million. During its construction phase, Zelestra created 1,000 jobs, with the majority being filled by local workers.
This announcement follows the mid-June connection of the 144 MW La Unión plant, situated in the municipality of Montería, department of Córdoba. With these developments, Zelestra continues to expand its renewable energy footprint in Colombia.
