Stem Welcomes Arun Narayanan As New Chief Executive Officer

Stem, Inc., a global leader in AI-driven clean energy software and services, has announced the appointment of Arun Narayanan as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 27, 2025. On the same date, David Buzby will step down as Interim CEO and Executive Chairman but will continue to serve as Chair of the Board.

Mr. Narayanan is a highly experienced leader with over 25 years in software technology, operations, and data analytics, working across industries like oil and gas and renewable energy. His extensive career at SLB (formerly Schlumberger) and Anglo American involved creating advanced software for global clients, aligning perfectly with Stem’s goals during this crucial phase of its growth strategy. His recent work in renewable energy further enhances his ability to contribute as part of Stem’s executive team.

Before joining Stem, Mr. Narayanan was the CEO of RES Digital Solutions, part of RES, a leading renewable energy company. There, he led the development of innovative software products, driving digital transformation in the renewables sector. Earlier, as Chief Data Officer at Anglo American, he spearheaded the creation of the VOXEL platform, setting a new standard in data analytics for the mining industry.

Mr. Narayanan spent 21 years at SLB, a Fortune 500 energy technology company, where he advanced through various leadership roles. As Vice President of Data & Analytics in the Software division, he oversaw the design and implementation of key software solutions. His diverse experience makes him an ideal fit for Stem’s leadership team.
