Power Exchange India Limited (PXIL) successfully conducted the second Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) trading session for the month of April 2025, in accordance with the Central Electricity Regulatory Commissionโ€™s (CERC) direction issued in Order of Petition No. 379/MP/2024. This marked the second REC session of the fiscal year 2025โ€“26 and the 47th auction session under the CERCโ€™s Renewable Energy Certificates (Terms and Conditions for Renewable Energy Generation) Regulations, 2022, which have been in effect since December 5, 2022.

A total of 3.46 lakh RECs were successfully transacted in this session. Before the auction, over 424.26 lakh RECs were available in the market for trading. The trading was conducted in line with the Honโ€™ble Delhi High Courtโ€™s Daily Order dated May 11, 2023, which lifted the previous restriction on the sale of RECs issued before October 31, 2022. As a result, all RECs held by sellers were eligible for trade in this session.
