The event, organized by the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) in collaboration with the Renewable Energy Association of the Philippines (REAP), spotlighted German innovations in smart grid systems, energy storage, and clean energy generation. It was part of a broader initiative under the โ€œEnergy Solutions โ€“ Made in Germanyโ€ program, backed by Germanyโ€™s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

Around 70 participantsโ€”including German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Philippine industry leaders, and government representativesโ€”attended the week-long engagement aimed at fostering technology exchange and investment collaboration.

In her keynote speech, Department of Energy Undersecretary Rowena Guevara emphasized the strategic role of smart grid technologies and energy storage in accelerating the countryโ€™s energy transition.

โ€œOur drive for energy transition will not only build sustainable energy infrastructure for future generations, but also reap the economic benefits of retaining a highly skilled workforce in the country,โ€ Guevara said.

Among the German firms that participated were Bae Batterien, Blueberry Energy, Fitchtner GmbH, H2 Core Systems, Reprocon GmbH, SkySails Power, and SMA Altenso GmbH.

GPCCI President Marie Antoniette Mariano underscored Germanyโ€™s long-term commitment to the Philippines, stating, โ€œThis mission reflects Germanyโ€™s commitment to building lasting partnerships in sectors with real impact.โ€

The GPCCI continues to play a vital role in representing German businesses in the Philippines, supporting market entry, business expansion, and policy engagement through its network of over 300 member companies.
