PT PLN Indonesia Power Services (PLN IP Services) has formed a strategic partnership with PT Trina Mas Agra Indonesia (TMAI) to boost the development of solar power projects and other sustainable energy initiatives in Indonesia. The agreement was finalized during a meeting held on April 30, 2026, at TMAI’s facility located in the Kendal Industrial Estate in Central Java.
This collaboration reflects an important step in supporting Indonesia’s energy transition goals. The country has set an ambitious target of achieving 100 GW of solar power capacity, and partnerships like this are expected to play a key role in reaching that milestone. By working together, both companies aim to strengthen the domestic renewable energy sector while improving the nation’s energy security through cleaner and more sustainable power sources.
PLN IP Services, traditionally known for its role in power plant operation and maintenance, is now expanding its focus. The company is actively moving into the planning, development, and management of new and renewable energy projects. Hari Cahyono, President Director of PLN IP Services, highlighted that this partnership is a clear step toward building a stronger clean energy business portfolio. He also expressed confidence that working with technologically advanced partners will help Indonesia adopt sustainable energy solutions more efficiently.
TMAI, on the other hand, contributes strong manufacturing capabilities and advanced solar technology. The company operates Indonesia’s first and largest integrated solar cell and module production facility. This local manufacturing capability is important because it reduces reliance on imported components and supports the country’s Domestic Component Level (TKDN) requirements. By using locally produced materials and expertise, the partnership ensures that economic benefits remain within Indonesia.
The collaboration also opens the door for future innovation in response to global energy trends. Both companies recognize the growing demand for clean energy, driven by industrial decarbonization efforts and the rapid growth of the electric vehicle sector. They believe that a collaborative approach is essential to meet these challenges and seize new opportunities.
Through this partnership, PLN IP Services and TMAI aim to position themselves as key contributors to Indonesia’s clean energy future. Their joint efforts are expected to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy and support the country’s long-term goal of achieving a sustainable and low-carbon economy.
