InEight, a leading provider of construction project controls software, has announced that its customer Akaysha Energy, which uses InEight Document, has achieved a major milestone in its renewable energy development journey. The company has successfully closed a $460 million construction financing round for its Elaine Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project.
With funding now secured, construction work on the project has officially begun, marking a significant step forward for one of Australia’s important clean energy infrastructure initiatives.Akaysha Energy is an Australian renewable energy developer focused on building and operating large-scale battery energy storage systems.
The company is actively working on projects across Australia, Japan, and North America, with a broader mission of supporting the global transition toward a low-carbon and more sustainable energy future. Its goal is to deliver reliable, affordable, and clean energy solutions that can support both communities and industries as energy systems continue to evolve.
Battery energy storage systems, commonly known as BESS, are designed to store electricity generated from renewable sources such as wind and solar power. This stored energy can then be supplied to the grid when demand is high or when renewable generation is low, helping to maintain a stable and reliable electricity supply.
The Elaine BESS project is Akaysha Energy’s first project in the state of Victoria, Australia. Once completed, it will provide a storage capacity of 300MW/1200MWh, enabling up to four hours of energy dispatch. This will play an important role in strengthening grid stability and increasing the share of renewable energy in Victoria’s power system. For the management of this complex infrastructure project, Akaysha Energy selected InEight Document as its centralized platform for project documentation.
The software is being used to manage all critical project information in one place, ensuring that teams across different functions and locations can access accurate and up-to-date data at all times. It supports version control, structured approval workflows, and secure document sharing, which helps improve coordination among stakeholders and reduces the risk of errors or miscommunication during project execution.
By providing better visibility and control over project information, InEight Document helps Akaysha Energy streamline collaboration and maintain consistency throughout the project lifecycle, from early planning stages through to construction and delivery. This contributes to improved efficiency and supports more predictable project outcomes, especially in large-scale infrastructure developments like the Elaine BESS project.
Jake Macholtz, CEO of InEight, stated that the company is proud to support Akaysha Energy in delivering the Elaine BESS project. He added that InEight Document is designed to give project teams greater clarity, control, and confidence when managing complex construction initiatives, and it is encouraging to see the platform being used in a project that contributes to advancing clean energy infrastructure. InEight continues to work with organizations involved in major infrastructure and energy projects, helping them manage complexity through improved project visibility, collaboration, and document control.
