Levanta Renewables, a Singapore-based renewable energy company, has reached an important milestone for its clean energy expansion in the Philippines. The project will include a 166 MWp ground-mounted solar power plant along with an 80 MWh battery energy storage system. The battery facility will help store excess solar power generated during the day and supply electricity when needed, supporting a more stable and reliable energy supply.

Funding for the project has been arranged through two leading banking institutions, enabling Levanta Renewables to move from the development phase into active construction. The financial close and notice to proceed represent a major step forward for the project and demonstrate strong confidence from investors and stakeholders.

Pramod Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Levanta Renewables, described the achievement as a significant milestone for the company. He expressed enthusiasm about beginning construction and thanked the company’s banking partners and local stakeholders for their support in advancing the project.

The Barotac project previously secured a Power Purchase Agreement under the fourth round of the Philippines Department of Energy’s Green Energy Auction Program. With financing now in place, the company expects the solar and battery facility to start commercial operations by mid-2027.

The project forms part of Levanta Renewables’ broader strategy to expand renewable energy capacity across Southeast Asia. The company develops, builds, and operates utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects in key regional markets, including Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Levanta Renewables is wholly owned by Actis, a global investor focused on sustainable infrastructure. Through the Barotac project, the company aims to support the Philippines’ transition toward cleaner energy while delivering long-term environmental and economic benefits to local communities.
