NOA to Supply 7 GWh of Renewable Power Annually to South African Tissue Producer UPP

South African renewable energy trader and aggregator NOA has signed an agreement to supply approximately 7 GWh of clean electricity annually to tissue manufacturer UPP, supporting the company’s decarbonization strategy and sustainability objectives.

Under the agreement, UPP will procure renewable electricity generated from NOA’s portfolio of solar and wind energy assets. The power will be delivered through South Africa’s electricity wheeling framework, enabling renewable energy generated at remote sites to be supplied directly to the manufacturer’s operations.

The deal marks another step in the growing adoption of renewable energy procurement among South Africa’s commercial and industrial sectors, where businesses are increasingly seeking alternatives to conventional grid electricity to reduce carbon emissions and improve long-term energy security.

NOA said the agreement will help UPP lower its environmental footprint while advancing the transition toward cleaner energy sources.
