SAEL Industries Ltd., a vertically integrated renewable energy company, today announced the groundbreaking of its integrated solar manufacturing facility in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. The project is being developed through its wholly owned subsidiary, SAEL Solar P6 Private Limited (SSP6PL), and marks a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to support India’s clean energy transition.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was held in the august presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, and was graced by Shri Suresh Kumar Khanna, Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Shri Nand Gopal Gupta “Nandi”, Hon’ble Minister for Industrial Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Shri Dhirendra Singh, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Jewar, Gautambuddha Nagar; Hon’ble Members of Parliament and Legislative Assembly; Senior officials from YEIDA and Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL); Industry leaders; and members of the SAEL leadership team.
Spanning 200 acres in Sector 8 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Gautam Buddha Nagar, the facility is being developed as an integrated 5 GW solar cell and 5 GW solar module manufacturing unit. Once operational, this 10 GW solar manufacturing ecosystem will contribute to India’s growing domestic industrial capabilities. The project supports Uttar Pradesh’s goal of attracting major manufacturing investments and shows the state’s growing role as a hub for clean energy industries.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sukhbir Singh, Co-founder and Director, SAEL Industries Limited, said, “Today’s foundation stone ceremony marks a defining moment in SAEL’s journey. With an initial investment of ₹8,200 crore, we are establishing a 5 GW solar cell and 5 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Jewar. This is not merely an investment in infrastructure; it is India’s investment in its own energy self-reliance. Today, Uttar Pradesh is one of India’s fastest-growing states, marching confidently towards its USD 1 trillion economy goal, and we are proud to be part of that journey. We are deeply grateful to the Government of Uttar Pradesh, YEIDA, and all stakeholders for making this vision a reality.”
Mr. Laxit Awla, CEO & Executive Director, SAEL Industries Ltd., said, “The Jewar project reflects SAEL’s confidence in India’s renewable energy future and in Uttar Pradesh’s emergence as a premier manufacturing destination. As demand for domestically manufactured solar products continues to grow, this facility will strengthen the resilience of India’s solar supply chain while creating significant economic value for the region. By integrating large-scale solar cell and module manufacturing at a single location, we are building capabilities that will serve as a solid example of vertical integration in the solar sector.”
This facility is expected to create 5,000 direct and 15,000 indirect jobs and contribute significantly to regional economic development through industrial activity, ancillary industries, and infrastructure growth. Once completed, the facility will manufacture high-efficiency solar cells and TOPCon modules using advanced technologies to support India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy sector.
