JSW Energy Limited has significantly strengthened its renewable energy portfolio by commissioning 1,081 MW of new green power capacity since April 2026, marking another major step in India’s clean energy transition. With this addition, the company’s total installed power generation capacity has increased to 14,535 MW.
Solar energy remains a key focus of the company’s latest expansion. Out of the newly commissioned capacity, 442 MW comes from solar power projects, making it the largest individual contributor among the new renewable additions. The remaining capacity includes 381 MW of hybrid projects, 150 MW of hydro power, and 108 MW of wind energy. The growing solar portfolio reflects JSW Energy’s continued commitment to expanding clean and sustainable electricity generation while supporting India’s renewable energy goals.
To strengthen its renewable energy ecosystem, the company also commissioned a wind blade manufacturing facility at Halol in Gujarat during June 2026. The facility has an annual production capacity of 450 wind blades, enough to support nearly 600 MW of wind power installations every year. This move is expected to improve supply chain efficiency and support future renewable energy projects.
Following the latest capacity addition, renewable energy now accounts for 8,877 MW, or nearly 61% of JSW Energy’s total operational portfolio. Thermal power contributes the remaining 5,658 MW. The company has already achieved more than one-third of its target to add 3 GW of renewable energy by FY2027, highlighting the strong pace of project execution.
JSW Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity has now reached 32.1 GW, including 14.53 GW in operation, 13 GW under construction, and a development pipeline of 4.6 GW. In addition, the company has secured 29.6 GWh of energy storage capacity through pumped hydro and battery energy storage systems.
As part of the JSW Group, the company continues to expand its renewable energy footprint with a strong emphasis on solar power. Its long-term strategy aims to achieve 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage by 2030, while progressing toward its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
