The project has been awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process, highlighting NIRL’s strong position in India’s rapidly growing renewable energy sector. As part of the agreement, GUVNL will procure the entire electricity generated from the upcoming solar power plant, ensuring a long-term power purchase arrangement for the project.

The award marks another important step in NLC India Limited’s strategy to strengthen its renewable energy portfolio and support India’s transition towards cleaner and more sustainable sources of power. The project is expected to contribute significantly to Gujarat’s renewable energy capacity while helping meet the country’s increasing demand for green electricity.

The development was officially disclosed by NLC India Limited in a regulatory filing submitted to the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) and BSE Limited on July 30, 2026. The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, which requires listed companies to inform stock exchanges about material developments.
