Treasure Global Inc. (NASDAQ: TGL), through its subsidiary Tadaa Technology Sdn Bhd (Tadaa), has entered into a strategic partnership with Malaysia-based renewable energy company Kainan Sdn Bhd (Kainan) to provide AI-enabled technology solutions for a proposed 360 MW solar farm in Malaysia.
The project is expected to involve an investment of approximately US$367 million and span around 1,000 acres. The solar development is planned to supply renewable electricity to a data centre under a 25-year power supply arrangement.
Under the partnership, Tadaa will provide an AI-powered digital infrastructure for the solar farm. The technology platform is expected to integrate Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled infrastructure, intelligent energy management, real-time performance monitoring, data analytics, predictive maintenance, system integration and secure cloud infrastructure.
According to Treasure Global, Tadaa is targeting approximately US$7.3 million in annual technology-related revenue once the project is fully deployed.
The partnership marks Tadaa’s expansion into large-scale renewable energy infrastructure and is intended to establish a technology deployment reference for future solar and energy-intensive infrastructure projects.
Sam Teo, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Treasure Global, said the 360 MW project provides Tadaa with an opportunity to demonstrate its AI and technology capabilities in energy management. He added that intelligent monitoring, analytics and predictive technologies could play an increasing role in improving the performance and operational efficiency of large-scale renewable energy assets.
The development comes as Malaysia advances its renewable energy transition under the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which targets renewable energy to account for 40% of installed capacity by 2035 and 70% by 2050.
Malaysia’s upcoming Large-Scale Solar 6 (LSS6) programme is also expected to add approximately 2,650 MW of new solar capacity, supporting the expansion of the country’s renewable energy pipeline.
Kainan, established in Malaysia in 2007, specializes in solar energy project development and participates in Malaysia’s Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Scheme (CRESS).
Treasure Global said the project could serve as a foundation for further expansion of its renewable energy technology business, including opportunities involving solar projects, data-centre energy infrastructure and other clean-energy developments across Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
