Adyant Renewables Private Limited, a group company of Datta Power Infra Private Limited (Datta Infra), has signed a 50 MW wind power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
The agreement was signed on September 3, 2026, and marks SECI’s first power purchase agreement specifically for the commercial and industrial (C&I) segment, according to Datta Infra.
The agreement is aimed at supporting the growing demand for renewable power among C&I consumers and enabling businesses to meet their decarbonisation objectives through renewable energy procurement.
Earlier initiatives in the C&I segment had primarily involved memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and term sheets. The 50 MW agreement represents a formal power purchase arrangement between SECI and a renewable energy developer for the segment.
Kapil Sharma, Head – Corporate Affairs at Datta Infra, said the company is participating as an early mover in SECI’s C&I renewable energy initiative and intends to contribute to the development of the segment through renewable energy solutions.
The project is expected to support the supply of clean power to C&I consumers while contributing to India’s renewable energy expansion. Datta Infra said it plans to commission the project at the earliest.
The agreement adds to the evolving role of C&I renewable power procurement in India, as businesses increasingly seek long-term renewable energy arrangements to manage energy costs and reduce emissions.
