BHEL Invites Bids For Engagement of a Consulting Firm for Preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Manufacturing in Solar PV Value Chain.

The Indian Government through Bharat Heavy Industries Limited (BHEL) had launched an expression of interest (EOI) for original equipment manufacturers (OEM).
Earlier BHEL said it wants to leverage its facilities and capabilities to set up the manufacturing base in the country to further promote the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the federal government.
One among the areas of cooperation in this field relates to joint production in the solar value chain, heavy electrical equipment, Li-Ion cells and process plant equipment, among others. The company, which already manufactures solar cells and modules, wants to expand its operations along the solar value chain by taking up polysilicon refining, wafer and ingot manufacturing, etc.
BHEL said it is currently exploring opportunities in the solar manufacturing domain to help reduce India’s dependence on imports and to support the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat program. It needs consultants to identify opportunities in entering, expanding, or backward integrating into the PV manufacturing sector.
Bharat Heavy Electronics Limited (BHEL), had recently issued an operation and maintenance (O&M) works tender of WBSEDCL SANTALDIH 10 MW (AC) Solar Power Project at Santaldih, West Bengal for a period of 5 Years.
