Through a tender by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), SJVN awarded its first ever 30 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Project.
“Company has bagged its first ever 30 MW wind-solar hybrid project through a tender floated by Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI),” SJVN said in a BSE filing.
The project was awarded at Rs 2.54/Unit under the Build Own and Operate model in the Tariff-based competitive bidding process.
Shri. Nand Lal Sharma also informed that the estimated cost of construction and the development of the project was Rs 195 Crores. In the first year, it will produce 79 MU and over 25 years, about 1860 MU.
SJVN and SECI shall sign a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), which will be valid for 25 years. The PPA shall be signed within 18 months of its signing.
Shri. Nand Lal Sharma stated that this is the first attempt of SJVN to develop a Hybrid Renewable Project. This is the first viable and fastest-emerging renewable energy option in India.
This Project will reduce carbon emissions by 90993 Tonnes. It will also contribute to Government of India’s goal of zero carbon emission by 2070.
