The Board of Directors of The Green Solutions held a commence construction ceremony of a Green Hydrogen Manufacturing plant in Tra Vinh in the presence of distinguished guests, including government officials, business leaders, and representatives from the energy industry at Dong Thanh hamlet, Dong Hai commune, Duyen Hai district.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, a former member of the Politburo, and former Chairwoman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam attended the commence construction ceremony of the Tra Vinh Green Hydrogen manufacturing plant and performed the button-pressing ritual to commence the project. In attendance were leaders of central ministries and departments such as Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Nguyen Tuan Quang, Deputy Director of the Climate Change Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; as well as leaders of provinces in the Mekong Delta region.
Leaders of Tra Vinh province who were in attendance include Ngo Chi Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee’s Executive Committee, Secretary of the Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee; Kim Ngoc Thai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Lam Minh Dang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Le Van Han, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; deputy chairpersons of the Provincial People’s Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Board; leaders of provincial departments and agencies, districts, towns, and cities.
Representatives of The Green Solutions were also present, including Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Quyen, CEO of The Green Solutions Corporation.
The Trà Vinh Green Hydrogen Manufacturing Plant project is a nearly VND 8,000 billion investment on an area of ​​about 21 hectares. The expected construction time is 2 years. The project produces hydrogen from seawater electrolysis. The electricity is used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen produced can be stored in liquid form, suitable for use in many fields, and easy to transport.
The investment policy of the Trà Vinh Green Hydrogen Manufacturing Plant project by The Green Solutions is in line with the trend of green economic development, and global green growth, and contributes to enhancing Vietnam’s position and reputation with the world in the roadmap to achieve commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
When the project is completed and put into operation, it will have a production scale of 24,000 tons of hydrogen per year and 195,000 tons of medical-grade oxygen per year. The project will create jobs for about 300-500 workers. The investment in the Green Hydrogen Manufacturing Plant project will bring Trà Vinh the opportunity to develop in realizing the goal of sustainable economic growth, making Trà Vinh one of the green energy centers in the Mekong Delta region and the whole country. The implementation of the project is an opportunity for Trà Vinh to develop and assert its rise towards a green and sustainable future.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan stated that the chemical industry has been identified by the Party and Government as a prioritized fundamental industry for development. The production of green hydrogen from renewable energy has been directed to be developed according to the Vietnam Chemical Industry Development Strategy by 2030 with a vision to 2040. He also acknowledged the efforts and attention of the leadership of The Green Solutions for choosing Tra Vinh to implement the project. The Deputy Minister thanked the support of the Government, central ministries, and agencies, helping the Party, the people of Tra Vinh, and The Green Solutions to implement the project. He emphasized that this is an extremely important project, not only for Tra Vinh but also for the entire Mekong Delta region and the country as a whole. It is a driving force for development and the aspiration of the people, with significance for the economy, politics, and society of the country and the people of Tra Vinh, as well as the Mekong Delta region and the nation.
Green hydrogen is a clean and sustainable fuel that has the potential to replace fossil fuels in various industries, including transportation, power generation, and manufacturing. The Tra Vinh Green Hydrogen Manufacturing Plant is a critical step towards achieving The Green Solutions’ goal of decarbonizing the energy sector and promoting sustainable energy solutions.
