MET Group Acquires German Project Company to Develop 62 MWp Photovoltaic Plant

MET Group has acquired a 100% stake in a German project company from ToRa GmbH, marking a significant move in its renewable energy expansion. The project aims to develop a photovoltaic plant with an expected capacity of 62 MWp, alongside a co-located 60 MW/240 MWh battery energy storage system in Saxony, Germany.

ToRa GmbH, a reputable solar and wind project developer with extensive expertise in the German market, will cooperate with MET Group throughout the projectโ€™s development process. โ€œToRa GmbH is an ideal partner for MET Group in Germany as it has a large network and a project development portfolio of over 2.3 GW. The German market presents an excellent opportunity for MET and I would like to see us take a significant position in the German wind and solar market,โ€ explained Christian Hรผrlimann, Renewables CEO of MET Group.

MET Group secured land in GroรŸ Dรผben for the project at the end of last year, which also holds potential for further renewable project development in the Lausitz area. This project is notable in the German market for its integration of both grid connection and battery storage.

The collaboration between MET Group and ToRa GmbH is set to advance the renewable energy landscape in Germany, leveraging ToRaโ€™s vast experience and MET Groupโ€™s strategic vision.
