Avaada Group Inaugurates 70 MW Solar Power Project, Boosting Clean Energy in Uttar Pradesh

Avaada Group, a prominent provider of green energy solutions, has marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its 70 MW solar power project in Banda district, Uttar Pradesh. The project was officially launched by the state’s chief minister, Yogi Adityanath, signaling a strong commitment to clean energy and sustainable development in the region.

Project Highlights:

  • Investment and Timeline: The Banda solar power project was completed in a swift 18 months, with an investment of approximately INR 408 crore.
  • Employment Generation: The construction phase of the project provided jobs to around 1,000 individuals, contributing to the local economy.
  • Renewable Energy Output: Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 160 million units of renewable energy annually, playing a key role in reducing the region’s carbon footprint.

Government Support and Vision:

At the inauguration, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the project as a crucial milestone for the Bundelkhand region, emphasizing its alignment with the state’s broader renewable energy goals. He noted that the project reflects the progress made under the memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed during the UP Global Investors Summit.

“Avaada Group’s commitment to establishing this solar power project exemplifies the progress we are making in the renewable energy sector. I encourage other organizations to explore opportunities in Uttar Pradesh’s renewable energy space, contributing not only to clean energy generation but also to job creation for our people,” said Chief Minister Adityanath.

Avaada’s Future Commitments:

Vineet Mittal, chairman of Avaada Group, expressed gratitude for the Uttar Pradesh government’s support, which was pivotal in bringing the Banda project to life. He praised the state’s investor-friendly policies and the proactive assistance from key government bodies like the Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (UPPTCL) and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).

Mittal also outlined Avaada’s future initiatives in Uttar Pradesh, including:

  • Pumped Storage Projects: The development of two pumped storage projects with a combined capacity of 2,190 MW in Sonbhadra and Mirzapur districts.
  • Additional Solar Projects: Nearly 1,000 MW of solar power projects planned in Jalaun, Chitrakoot, and Lalitpur districts.
  • Investment Plans: An estimated investment of INR 20,000 crore allocated for these projects.

Avaada’s Broader Vision:

Avaada Group, renowned for its renewable energy generation and solar PV manufacturing, is expanding its portfolio to include green fuels such as green ammonia, green methanol, and sustainable aviation fuel. The Group aims to achieve an installed renewable energy capacity of 11 GWp by 2026. The company has garnered significant international investments, including a $1.3 billion commitment in 2023, reflecting global confidence in its green energy strategy.
